But it's limiting when it comes to details i belive.

You get that instant huge cinematic sound. It has that big hollywood sound and it's not going to empty your wallet either(unless you go for the platinium one that is) - But thers no need to really as Gold have the same samples(just not the three mic positions) and you can always upgrade later on.Īs for Symfobia i think the sound is lovely and big of course. They are all great lib's, but i belive you would get the most out of the eastwest one. I have a few orchestra/brass librarys including Symfobia, EWQL symphonic orchestra, Kirk Hunters Emerald and Broadway Big Band among others. So my question is, if you had $1000 to work with, how would you split it in order to get quality samples of (in order of priority):Īnd also would like to hear your views on Symphobia.

The G8, a good fast computer, Fruity Loops, Battery 3, Wallander Instruments trial version (precisely what I need for trumpet, clarinet, and sax, but it would cost a fortune to get each of those separate packs - so right now I'm making do with the very limited (1.5 octave range) demo), Garritan Personal Orchestra (pretty abysmal for most purposes). I'd also like to find (separate of the orchestra thing) higher-grade upright bass/sax/guitar samples. is important to me, so not being able to segment the brass and woodwinds and get solo instruments is frustrating. And because I like some jazz overtones as well, having good samples of trumpet, clarinet, etc. The major con I'm coming up with is that everything (except a string quartet) is ensemble-scale.
#Project sam symphobia in fruity loops how to
A lot of what it does is absolutely stellar and pretty much unable to be imitated without some VERY good software and knowledge of how to line up orchestral instruments en masse and tweak their different attributes.

#Project sam symphobia in fruity loops full version
I've been messing around with it on, where you can play with the full version (albeit streamed through the web, so expect a lot of latency - but at least an idea of what it's capable of). My main concern is that this will empty me out with regards to future sample/VST purchases for the next year or so, so I need to make very certain it's covering all the bases. The price (even at educational version) is what's holding me back (educational license runs $900-1000). Symphobia seems like a great fit to bolster that powerful, high-production cinematic feel. I'm aiming to do stuff closer to Amon Tobin (esp on his Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory soundtrack) and The Cinematic Orchestra as I get more familiar with composition. What I've made so far on it ranges across downtempo, jazz, and a lot of experimental stuff with a heavy classical bent (started out with classical piano and that's almost all my training).
